Wauchope-Bonny Hills boasts a tremendous record in boat rowing, including medal-winning performances at all levels of competition, including the Australian titles (click here for pdf copy of the 2009-10 Season competition calendar).
Our history stretches back to 1959/60 when the first BP Gull was presented to the club. Many more boats were purchased over the years – mostly on the back of strong fund-raising efforts by club members.
In recent years our WBH boaties have done us proud in competition. They have rowed brilliantly in Mid-North Coast Branch Championships, having twice won all boat divisions and have been the champion boat rowing club in the Greater North Coast Series (Newcastle - Qld border) 2003 and runners-up in 2005. They have been the Bill Balkan Memorial Boat Race champions many times and have won NSW Country Championship medals in under 19 men, open women (our veteran ladies), reserve and veteran mens.
It's been terrific to see a growing number of ladies involved in the sport - GO GIRLS!! To all our crews, we salute your efforts in competition. We especially congratulate the sweeps and coaches for your dedication and skill and thank the families involved for their on-going support.
