A readily accessible, popular spot with holiday makers, fishermen & surfers. A nice place to stop, picnic, swim & enjoy views.

Description:

Rainbow Beach runs for 2.5 km from the rocks at Middle Rock Point to the rocks at Bonny Hills. There are no facilities at Middle Rock, however the southern Bonny Hills end, boasts the Surf Club, a park and picnic area, and two caravan parks. The beach receives little protection from the headlands and a wide double bar system runs the full length.

Swimming conditions:

Safest in the south between the flags as rips dominate the beach.

Surfing conditions:

The south side of Middle Rock is popular in summer when it offers a little protection from the north easterlies. The southern Bonny Hills point holds east and south east swell to 3 m on a combination of reef and outer bar, with beach breaks up the beach.

Fishing conditions:

Northern Middle Rocks offer the best gutters & a low rock platform.

Beach length (m):

2500
