THE Wauchope Bonny Hills Surf Life Saving Club has enjoyed a positive association with a large number of supporters and sponsors over its 50 years’ operation. From our life patrons Darby Olsen, the Stokes family, the family of the late Jack Monaghan and Lloyd Flesser through to the Wauchope RSL, the Cassegrain family and Rotary, Lions and Apex clubs of Wauchope, the club has benefited enormously from their generosity.

Our Nippers have enjoyed the support of Bennett Surfboards and Coastline Credit Union via their Community Support Foundation (here for details).

Over the years the wider general community has been a wonderful contributor to our club. Club fundraising activities have included Buy a Brick campaigns, Silver Mile of Coins, our 200 then 250 and now 300 Club, housie, car washes, street stalls, chook runs, Apex Tombolas and Rainbow Beach Holiday Park fun runs.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars has been raised by club members to purchase life saving equipment, maintain the clubhouse and provide educational and competition equipment to keep the surfing public safe.

One of the club’s most significant recent fundraising ventures has been the introduction of the Boat and Beach Bonds. At the instigation of Garrick Gabriel, the Bonds have provided the club with a steady flow of funds. These Beach Bonds are prominently promoted on the front page of the Hastings Gazette and have been a significant contributor to our club.

The third Beach Bond should provide valuable funds for the club to continue its good work within the community.

In more recent times, the Bonny Hills Beach Hotel has helped our club through the running of meat raffles every Friday night and 1st/3rd Sunday evenings – and special thanks to Dave Rogers and the Hollins family for their support of this important fundraising event.
