Wauchope-Bonny Hills SLSC has a growing number of patrols on the beach each summer. They work on the beach on a voluntary basis according to a patrol calendar. Each patrol is led by a senior member of the club who assumes the role of Patrol Captain. Patrols consist of trained volunteers who are trained in:

  • surf skills, surf rescue techniques and resuscitation
  • inshore rescue boat (IRB) driving
  • first aid.

The patrol season runs from November till the end of April. Between those dates you can find our members volunteering on the beach on Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays (including Christmas Day!!). The flagged patrol area is generally located fairly close to the Club House and is clearly marked with red & yellow flags (left) - mobile patrols are provided on the hour as far north as Middle Rock.
